Tidligere tjenestemann Steven Koonin i det amerikanske energidept'tet ("at a very high level" iflg intervjueren i Wall Street Journal) har nÃ¥ stÃ¥tt fram med pÃ¥stander om hyppig "misleading of news releases about climate data to influence public opinion". Koonin navngir konkret folk som Gavin Schmidt og James Hansen.

Det vil være naturlig å spørre om Koonins faglige bakgrunn for å kunne hevde disse tingene:
Wiki sier bl.a. dette: Steven E. Koonin (f. 12.des. 1951) er "a theoretical physicist and Director of the Center for Urban Science and Progress at New York University. He is also a professor in the Department of Civil and Urban Engineering at NYU's Tandon School of Engineering."
Koonin har sin doktorgrad i teoretisk fysikk fra MIT.
