Den store post-Corona Reset
« on: 15.11.2020, 18:57:52 »

The world must stop building new coal power plants and instead embrace green alternatives in a post-coronavirus reset world, U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on Saturday.
Speaking via video message to the East Asia Summit 2020, Guterres called on all countries to reject coal and join together in seeking other alternatives.

“Countries also need to put a price on carbon and end subsidies for fossil fuels. Our response to the COVID-19 crisis must be aligned with the Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals. In all these efforts, you can count on the support of the United Nations system.”

His call mirrors that by the World Economic Forum (WEF) back in July foreshadowing its desire to rebuild the world in a fashion of its own design once the coronavirus pandemic is over.

rebuild the world in a fashion of its own design

Som vanlig kjører Guardian frem Kina som klima-redder, selv om de ikke kan vise til mye annet enn kamp mot "ekte" forurensning. Og sterke krefter presser på for sterk økning av kull-kraften;

… Whether or not there is high-level political support for the idea, important industry players are making a push for significantly increased limits on coal-fired power capacity.

The industry group for China’s power sector giants, China Electricity Council, has argued that coal-power capacity “will” reach 1,300GW by 2030, up from 1,050GW today. This target is based on its projections for annual electricity demand and the need for capacity to meet peak loads.

A cap of 1,300GW in 2030 would imply the addition of well over 300GW of new coal-fired capacity this decade, after accounting for the retirement of older plants.

IPCC - They've told us what it's NOT. But NOT what it is.
