Tidligere tjenestemann Steven Koonin i det amerikanske energidept'tet ("at a very high level" iflg intervjueren i Wall Street Journal) har nå stått fram med påstander om hyppig "misleading of news releases about climate data to influence public opinion". Koonin navngir konkret folk som Gavin Schmidt og James Hansen.

Wiki sier bl.a. dette: Steven E. Koonin (f. 12.des. 1951) er "a theoretical physicist and Director of the Center for Urban Science and Progress at New York University. He is also a professor in the Department of Civil and Urban Engineering at NYU's Tandon School of Engineering."
Koonin har sin doktorgrad i teoretisk fysikk fra MIT.
